On ground already scarred by fire, a half-burnt match takes shape in reclaimed road signs. Its flame is held in an image. Beyond it, the consequences are real.

IT TAKES SO LITTLE. confronts the distance between an act and its consequences: what takes a moment to ignite reaches far beyond the hand that starts it. The work speaks to carelessness, indifference and deliberate destruction. The burnt landscape gives that responsibility a place and a scale.

Each sign remains intact. Words, arrows, prohibitions and scratches retain their individual histories. Laid flat and brought together, their faces and grey metal backs become the flame, the charred head and the slender stem of a match.
This is the language of Urban Pixel: an expanding archive of reclaimed signs, recomposed into images whose meaning develops through their relationship with a place. Here, objects once used to guide and warn form a warning of their own.
